Community Involvement

With offices and properties in cities across the country, Forest City recognizes the importance of the partnerships we create with local communities. The Company believes in not only in being a good partner with these communities, but in truly giving something back. That’s why Community Involvement is one of our Core Values, and an integral part of the way we do business.

We demonstrate our commitment in many ways.

Since 2004, Forest City associates in Cleveland and across the country have participated in Community Day, the Company’s annual celebration of community service. On Community Day each year, participating associates spend the day working with local service organizations and charities. In the program’s six years, Community Day has given associates the opportunity to dedicate approximatly 100,000 hours of hard work to their local community.

In addition, Forest City has contributed millions to charities through our corporate foundation. At our headquarters in Cleveland, we are consistently among the largest corporate campaigns each year.

Overall, we appreciate the importance of long-term relationships and sincere interactions with community members. As a real estate owner and manager, we view each property as a unique piece of the community's fabric, where people live, work, shop, play and stay. We reinvest in our existing properties to ensure their longevity, usefulness and value, which, as a result, greatly benefits the surrounding community.

Our Core Value:  Forest City is committed to the welfare of the communities in which its people live and work. The Company will develop and maintain excellent relationships throughout its communities and always works to balance business interests with the needs of its communities.

"I know from the enthusiastic comments I have heard over the past years that Community Day is a very rewarding experience for Forest City associates, as well as the organizations they volunteer with that day. We truly value being good citizens in all of our communities, and that is evidenced by all of the time and hard work that our associates put forth to make this day possible."
