Brian M. Jones Chairman - West Coast Development
Brian M. Jones is chairman of West Coast Development.
Jones oversees the Company’s new development opportunities and all aspects of the commercial real estate development process in California and the West Coast. He is supervising the development of several large-scale projects, including Westfield San Francisco Centre, one of the largest urban mixed-use projects in Forest City’s portfolio. He is also leading the development of Victoria Gardens, a major new suburban town center in Rancho Cucamonga, California.
Jones has been in the commercial real estate industry since the early 1970s. He has been in his current position since 1987, when he established Forest City’s commercial development operation for the Western region.
He joined Forest City in 1978 as vice president and project developer for Charlestown Tower Center, a major urban mixed-use project located in Charlestown, West Virginia. He was subsequently responsible for developing the following regional shopping centers: Galleria at South Bay, Redondo Beach, Victor Valley Mall California, Antelope Valley Mall, Galleria at Sunset --Henderson (Nevada), and Promenade at Temecula.
Before joining Forest City, Jones worked in a variety real estate development and construction management positions at Bovis Ltd., VanBots Construction, Canadian Interurban Properties and the provincial government of Ontario, Canada.
Jones is a 1962 graduate of Willesden Technical College in England.
He is active on the executive and curriculum committees of the Lusk Graduate School of Real Estate at the University of Southern California, and is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers and Urban Land Institute. Jones is also a member of Junior Achievement of the Bay Area in San Francisco.
