Waterfront Station

Located in Southwest Washington, D.C. atop a busy MetroRail station, this adaptive re-use project will include 1.2 million square feet of office space, 1,100 residential units and a minimum of 110,000 square feet of retail.

The project is jointly owned by Forest City Washington, Vornado/Charles E. Smith, and Bresler & Reiner, Inc.

One of the most significant features of the new development is the re-opening of Fourth Street SW, which will create an active new streetscape and connect Waterfront Station to the main arteries of Southwest Washington and beyond. Retail programming along this lively street will expand to include new restaurants and other stores. Retail tenants will also benefit from the significant expansion of office space planned for Waterfront.

The project's first phase, currently under construction and slated for opening in 2010, includes two office buildings, both already leased to the D.C. government (for a total of 500,000 square feet).
