Holiday Shopper Survey 

 

What are holiday shoppers looking for this year?  What are their spending priorities? How are they using mobile apps as part of their in-store shopping experience?

We wanted to find out the answers to these questions and more, so we teamed up with Alexander Babbage – a leading strategic consumer research firm – to find out.  Altogether, more than 10,000 shoppers representing Forest City centers nationwide provided input on their holiday shopping plans and preferences in our recent online survey.

In case you’re wondering, the answers to the questions above are as follows:

  • Value. Almost a quarter of shoppers expect to spend more on “value brands” this year.
  • Children’s categories – apparel, accessories and toys – are at the top of the list.
  • There’s growing use of mobile apps for price research.
